Nova is a happy, playful Pyrenees mix who loves to run and chase a ball or stick. Currently in boarding, Nova is seeking a foster or furever home. She’s housebroken, walks well on leash, and is crate trained. She enjoys meeting people and dogs and has been wonderful with children. Nova has a magnificent, short black and white coat and is on the smaller side. She loves to cross her front paws when lying down. She also loves treats of all kinds and has enjoyed getting brushed and taking rides in the car. This moderate-energy girl is very quiet - her foster mom hasn’t heard her bark yet! And she’s not a digger. She needs encouragement and help getting into the car but will jump down fine. She’s learning commands quickly and is eager to please, so should pick up more in no time! Her ideal home would have a 4’ fenced yard for zoomies, with an active family and someone to play with, be that children or a male dog buddy.

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
