This pretty lady is Angel, and she is in boarding and looking for a foster or a furever family. This sweet girl has the best pyrsonality, and she lives up to her namesake. Angel is gentle, kind, friendly, and eager to please. She appreciates the opportunity to stretch her legs and sniff around in a safe, 4’ fenced-in yard, but overall has a low energy level, and is happy to come back inside to be with her people. Angel has definitely read the memo about being a gentle giant, because she is as gentle as they come, and is on the shortlist for the best babysitter of the year! These days, Angel is working on her leash skills so she can go for a stroll around the neighborhood or romping in the woods when the temperature drops. She is already house-trained and crate trained, doesn’t dig, is not a big barker, and is non-destructive. Grooming is a breeze, as she is excellent for baths and nail trims. She doesn’t mind being brushed, nor does she get fazed by the high velocity drier! She could do without fireworks and thunderstorms though, as they can be scary for this laid-back lady. Just about any home would be a good fit for Angel, whether it’s with seniors, kids, other dogs or as a solo pup. She just needs people who love her, and will be her thunder buddy during storms. Sweet Angel has all the pawtential to be your best friend furever, all you need is to open your heart and fill out the application!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
