Meet Flip, a sweet and gentle female Great Pyrenees who is currently in boarding and looking for a foster or furever home. This adorable, slightly quirky girl is the definition of a chill companion - she's housebroken, crate trained, walks well on leash, and has a wonderfully low activity level that makes her ideal for a relaxed household. Flip is a quiet soul who rarely barks and simply wants to hang out with her people in a peaceful environment. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people initially, she's non-reactive and warms up quickly, becoming very loving once she knows you. She's perfectly fine with children, though she tends to pretty much ignore them, and gets along well with other dogs, particularly male companions. Flip much prefers the comfort of indoor living to the scary outside world, though she's happy to go out briefly to do her business before heading back to her cozy spot inside. She has no known behavior issues, doesn't dig, and her simple pleasures include being brushed and enjoying treats like burgers and grilled chicken. The ideal home for Flip would be a quieter one without lots of noise or commotion, where she can be either an only dog or paired with a calm male buddy. With her gentle, sweet nature and love for pets and kisses once comfortable, Flip would thrive in a peaceful home with a 4-foot fence where she can live her best low-key life.

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
