Tamlyn is a friendly boy with a gorgeous face, who really enjoys people and any attention he gets from them! He came to rescue with his two sisters who were picked up as strays and the owners did not want to take them back. He has learned to walk on a leash and enjoys going for walks. This boy is curious and interested in everything so a family who enjoys hiking, or long walks where he can explore would be the best! He is super smart and will even sit for a treat! Tamlyn is not a player and can be dog selective; however, he is fine when out on walks, always wags his tail and will greet other dogs nicely. Tamlyn is a people dog—loving all attention—he is even awesome for brushing, ear cleanings, and pedicures! He would do great in a home as an only dog or perhaps with an older female who does not require a playmate. This boy was fine greeting the cats, but is happy to chase if they run, so dog savvy cats please! Tamlyn has a happy demeanor and truly loves hanging with his people. He would enjoy a big, 5-foot fenced yard where he can explore and hang out. Tamlyn’s ideal home will be with a family who will satisfy his curious nature with attention and exercise, where he is the center of their attention! He will do amazing during training time; especially if his people have a pocketful of treats! This boy enjoys life and with his happy personality he is sure to bring enjoyment into the life of his new family!

NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog.
Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
