Handsome, young gentleman is the best way to describe this Pyr mix boy! His personality matches his striking face and gorgeous coat. Don’t let his looks fool you as he is extremely smart too! This boy came into rescue after he and his sisters were dumped by their owners at a shelter. It was obvious they had little people attention and food was not plentiful. His past did not stop him, and while he can be shy at first meeting, he is quickly learning people equal so many wonderful things in life! He is great for groomings, has learned to walk on a leash, and that the house has its perks too! This boy simply loves attention of any kind! He is good in a crate and even responds to his name. Cats --Landrey loves any and all—he enjoys them rubbing all over him and just can’t get enough of them! He and his sisters did not know how to play but now have learned to be carefree and enjoy a good game of chase getting on great with all the dogs! Since he didn’t have consistent meals prior to rescue, we recommend feeding separate so he doesn’t have to worry, and can enjoy his big bowl of kibble! Landry has not been around children, but with his gentle nature and laid-back personality, he should be fine with those raised around large breed dogs. Families with large breed experience, a fenced yard, another dog to play with, and even a kitty or two would be Landrey’s PYRfect family! Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport.  Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
