If you are looking for a companion who loves humans and playmates, and will do anything for a treat, Xena is your girl! She is kind, gentle, trusting, and completely loving. This smart gal is crate trained, walks well on leash, and knows basic commands. Xena adores her toys and bones so much that she can empty a 5-gallon toy bin in less than 10 seconds. She enjoys playing with her foster brothers and loves being outside. She will sit, just observing her surroundings and is very content doing so. She is your typical Pyr, when she hears anything that might be a threat, she will alert-bark to send those predators away. The perfect home for Xena is to have a male playmate, and humans that will provide lots of attention. This girl is an exquisite gem who enjoys a quiet environment. Not to mention, she has a long, beautiful coat and beautiful eyes that make you fall in love the minute you see her!

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
